WhatsApp introduces group calling shortcut for iOS users; Know its features

Instant messaging paltform WhatsApp has come up with another feature for its iOS users, facilitating them with group call shortcut. The latest update adds a group calling shortcut to WhatsApp, and the update feature makes it easier to place group calls in the chat app, said an Indiatoday report. Notably, Android beta users have already been using this feature, but the platform is yet to have the stable version. 

For using this feature, you need to tap on the shortcut icon and it will show you the list of members in the chat. You just select the members you want to call, select voice only or video call and go ahead, the report said, adding that the update is limited to just four persons right now.

Barring this update, WhatsApp is reportedly working on to bring Touch ID/Face ID support for the app, and this feature will lock the app on your phone so that others may cannot see your messages. 

This feature is still under developmental stage and not available for beta testing yet, said the report, ading that it will add a new Touch ID option in your Privacy Settings. If the user enabled Touch ID or Face ID, WhatsApp will prompt for authentication overtime it is opened. The feature would further add protection level to the app. 

The Touch ID support would also come to old iPhone models such as iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S, while the Face ID support would reportedly be available in the latest phones like iPhone X, iPhone XR and iPhone XS.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is really to launch Picture-in-Picture feature, which it has already introduced for Android users in India, to WhatsApp Web also. The update has been in testing mode for Android since October, and so far was available in the beta stage. The Picture-in-Picture feature on WhatsApp was only available for the iPhone users since the beginning of 2018. 

Notably, WhatsApp is also working on the dark mode, which is so far available on Twitter and Instagram. The feature will not only less train your eyes when using the app at night, but would also save your battery consumption.
