WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook down again, users unable to update statuses
World's most popular social media trio, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook faced a backlash again for not responding well to an emergency situation. The users in some parts of the world complained of being unable to upload pictures or updates their statuses online.
World's most popular social media trio, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook faced a backlash again for not responding well to an emergency situation. The users in some parts of the world complained of being unable to upload pictures or updates their statuses online. According to DownDetector, the outage first appeared at around 10 am ET or 7 pm IST on Sunday. The users majorly in regions like Asia, Unites States, South America and Europe faced the issues. The users were unable to upload pictures or update statuses on these platforms.
However, the outage map on DownDetector showed that all the three online media services were back online after three hours. This is the second instance in last one month, when Facebook or its services have remained affected. Earlier, Facebook remained unresponsive for nearly nine hours.
While in March, Facebook's family of apps consisting of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram suffered a major outage. The outage had also affected Facebook's other services, including Oculus VR too had been affected by the outage. At the some reports had suggested that Facebook's services had been down owing to a DDoS attack.

However, Facebook clarified by saying that users across the globe were experiencing issues owing to a system configuration change. In July, the issue on the three platforms which affected 14,000 users on Instagram, over 7,500 people on Facebook, while nearly 1,600 on WhatsApp. Talking about the recent outage, it is still not clear what happened with the Facebook's family of apps.
