WhatsApp Edit Message Feature: Instant messaging app WhatsApp is known for providing updates quite often. These updates are based on the demands of users and help the app stay relevant. One such demand is of providing an option to edit messages. Recently there were reports that the Meta-owned company has been working to develop this feature. The company is expected to launch this feature for all versions of its application. Now reports suggested that the company is working on a 'dedicated alert' for the instant messaging service.

The notification will let users know that the message they are reading has already been edited.

According to the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, the caption would read "This message was edited for everyone on this chat on the latest version of WhatsApp."

This makes it clear that it would work only on the latest version of the app. There is no information regarding how the 'edited message notification' feature would work for users using the old version.

WhatsApp working on 15 new durations for disappearing messages

 

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also working on 15 new durations for disappearing messages.

For the uninitiated, the platform currently offers support for three durations for disappearing messages. The durations are - 24 hours, 7 days and 90 days. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the new durations will be present under the "More options" menu.

The new durations under the more options could be - 1 year, 180 days, 60 days, 30 days, 21 days, 14 days, 6 days, 5 days, 4 days, 3 days, 2 days, 12 hours, 6 hours, 3 hours and 1 hour.

This will undoubtedly give users more control over the messages they send and receive with the addition of more durations for disappearing messages.
