WhatsApp Groups can be annoying. There is no doubt that they allow you to stay in touch with a group of people at the same time. But, all of us, at some point, have been a part of a WhatsApp group where members keep bombarding unnecessary messages that are of no use to anyone. In such cases, you have no option but to mute the group.
However, the problem is that as of now, WhatsApp only allows its users to mute groups for one year. That can change soon. The platform is reportedly working on a feature that will allow you to mute the groups forever.
The update has been spotted by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo as an upcoming beta feature on the latest update to WhatsApp for Android beta app. The screenshot shared by the tracker hints that while the option to mute a group for eight hours or one week would likely remain, the one year option seems set to be replaced by an option to mute a group forever.

If the users want to receive notifications at any point, they can simply unmute it.
WhatsApp is one of the most well-equipped messaging apps in the world, and certainly the most popular around the world. With over 2 billion users globally. To improve the overall messaging experience, WhatsApp has taken a number of steps such as improved spam detection, end to end encryption, better message search, dark mode, group invitation restrictions and more.
The platform is also working on the multi-device support which could be called “linked devices”. In a recent tweet, WABetaInfo said that in order to login in to multiple devices, a user would require to enter his mobile number and a code that it will receive as an SMS.
“The phone number + a SMS code will allow to use WhatsApp on another phone. So it's the same procedure. WhatsApp might also plan to receive the code from a "WhatsApp chat".iPad will be obviously supported,” the features tracker said in its reply to a Twitter user who wanted to know how the feature will work once implemented.
