If you are a movie buff, you can buy movie tickets through Google Assistant now. To offer this service, Google, the US information technology (IT) giant has collaborated with ticketing company Fandango.  Users of the application will be able to buy movie tickets using voice commands on Google Assistant. At present BookMyShow, Paytm are the some of the companies that provide movie ticket booking facilities. With Google Assistant ticket booking service, moviegoers will have another option for booking tickets.  Earlier, Google Assistant had launched payment option in its app.  Google announced the launch of this feature for movie fans on May 4. This app also guides you in picking the right movie.

Fandango sells movie tickets via its website and through its mobile app. Not only booking tickets, this app will also provide you additional information about films. Google Assistant will also reportedly bring up a selection of films playing at theatres located near you. You can also find who stars in the movie you may decide to watch. Fandango app is available on Apple`s Siri too. However, the app allows its users purchase tickets without downloading the Fandango app.

The feature works on mobile phones that are Google Assistant enabled. The app is interactive, all you need to do is say something like “Hey Google, get me tickets for…” and say the name of the movie you want to watch. According to Google, one can preorder advance tickets for movies. Google Assistant will open the Fandango app so that the user can pick seats before completing the purchase.

Google Assistant is no longer relegated to Google-built devices like Google Home or the latest Pixel phones.  One can get Google Assistant on a wide range of handsets.  It is available on high-end products as well as budget models.  The new LG G7 ThinQ even features a dedicated button to summon Google Assistant. Even iPhone users can download an iOS version of Google Assistant.
