Want to unlist yourself from Truecaller? Follow these easy steps

Truecaller, one of the most popular apps, that helps users identify unknown numbers from which they receive calls is a very useful application for many of us. However, many users want to delete their data from the Truecaller database, as they feel it violates their privacy. 
 
According to reports, cited by timesnownew.com, it is very common for people to get scammed and be part of various frauds when they have their mobile number registered with Truecaller.
 
Truecaller tells the users about the contact details that are not saved in the contact list. The app also bifurcates the numbers present on its database under the spam category. According to the report, the app crowdsources contact details from a user’s contact list no matter whether the user is using Truecaller or not. The users' name and number can still remain in the database history of Truecaller as someone else has saved the contact details on his/her phone. Sometimes Truecaller also lists the address of a landline number.
 
If you are an Android, iOS or Windows phone user and want to unlist your number from Truecaller then follow the below-mentioned steps.
 
a. Open the Truecaller app
b. Log in to the Truecaller account
c. Tap on the people icon present at the corner and go to settings
d. Select about
e. Tap on the deactivate option
 
By following the above-mentioned steps, a user will be able to deactivate the account on the Truecaller app. However, the details still will be present in the app, in order to unlist the same one has to open the Truecaller ‘Unlist’ page- https://www.truecaller.com/unlisting.

After opening the same, the user have to enter his/her mobile number along with the country code. Besides that, one also has to choose the reason for unlisting. Then just mention the 'Captcha' and click on the 'Unlist' option.
