Truke Fit Buds review: Last week a friend came home and enquired about what I am reviewing these days. Just as a fun exercise, I gave him the Truke Fit Buds and once he was done playing with them, I asked him to guess the price. That’s probably what gave it away. “Rs 1,000? Hahaha...,”he replied, assuming no TWS can cost that low. "Rs 799", I replied to see the shock on his face.

There is no doubt that Truke Fit Buds are as affordable as the game gets in the earbuds segment. In fact, when the company launched Truke Fit Pro at Rs 999 in July, it surprised a lot of people. And, it deserves all the praise for coming up with a product for as low as Rs 799. 

Now, the affordable price tag doesn’t guarantee a good product. In fact, this is the space where you need to be more vigilant than any other. For starters, Truke has used a really cheap plastic on the charging case as well as on the earbuds. The lid takes some extra effort to open and close. At the same time, you need to apply extra force to take out the buds from the case. 

This is understandable given the price of the Fit Buds. But, also raises questions around their durability.  

The charging case is big, has two LED lights indicating the charging status, a power button and a micro USB port. It is not too heavy so, easy to carry. The earbuds though, are among the thickest I have seen. They come in the stick design with eartips on top.  

Strangely though, the right earbud is placed on the left side while the left earbud is on the right. I don’t know who came up with this idea but they need to rethink because this, clearly isn’t working.  

The earbuds have been launched in two colour variants - Royal Blue and Carbon Black. They come equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, quick connectivity and instant pairing with 99% devices. The buds were quick to connect and I didn’t face any issues in terms of connectivity.  

What’s surprising again is the fact that Truke has used 10mm drivers on these earbuds. That is very impressive for the price point. The Truke Fit Buds sound good for the price as well. They are largely bass-heavy, which can get too harsh at times at higher volumes.  

For example, a beat-dominated track like ‘Maluma’ by Hawai, sounds fine but the highs pinch you at certain points. This only happens as you increase the volume beyond 80 per cent. Below that, the earbuds deliver better consistency.  

The buds claim to offer a decent 3.5-hour music playback with an additional 20-hour playback from the 500 mAh case.  

Truke Fit Buds review: Should You Buy? 

If you are a true music enthusiast or a working professional who is looking for a good sounding, ANC-enabled pair of TWS, there are several options in the market you can consider. Not everyone can afford them. There are still a lot of people in India who think twice before ordering a wired earphone which may cost less than Rs 500. For them, the Truke Fit Buds emerges as a rare option. They don’t require you to break the bank while offering a truly wireless experience.  

Having said that, don’t expect an out-of-the-world audio performance or build quality for that amount.
