Just like 2018, people at WhatsApp are having a busy 2019 as well with the Facebook-owned platform rolling out a number of features to enhance user experience. Earlier this year, WhatsApp had introduced the picture-in-picture (PIP) mode for Android as well as iOS users. The feature allows users to play videos from major platforms without having to leave the chat window. It was welcomed by most users and was an instant hit. However, there is a small problem with the picture-in-picture (PIP) mode. It stops playing videos whenever a WhatsApp user switches to another application.

Several users have reported the issue even when the app wasn't closed. Now, the instant messaging platform is set to address this problem and better user experience is expected. WhatsApp is reportedly working on an update that will solve the issue. The feature was first reported by tipster WABetaInfo which reports developments and upcoming features on the social messaging app. In March, it had said that the Facebook-owned app had started working on fixing limitation with the feature. 

Now, the platform has started to roll out the update for all the users that have the latest beta version of its Android app. This means that the PIP mode 2.0 is available to all those using WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.19.177. The company has not revealed when the feature will be rolled out for all the users but you could expect that to happen soon.

After the update, the feature would allow WhatsApp users to play YouTube or Facebook videos in the background even if they switch from one chat to another within the app or to another app without closing the platform. The feature should be available to WhatsApp users across the globe soon.

Apart from this, WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that can save you from a lot of trouble. The other WhatsApp feature stops users to stop images and videos accidentally to wrong contacts. As of now, the platform shows an image of the recipient in the top left corner of the screen when users select and edit the images that they want to share. 

However, soon, the app would show a name of the recipient just below the caption in the screen so that users can be doubly sure to whom they are sending their images.
