Gone are the days when one used to need a lot of words to chat. With technology like GIF, there are endless possibilities for iPhone or Android users to liven up a group chat. The GIF feature was first introduced on mega Social networking site Facebook which was soon adopted by Twitter. Months later, with the update arriving in November 2016, Mark Zuckerberg's another social media app WhatsApp added its own GIF feature .
However, when it comes to WhatsApp, some may find it bit tricky to search and send GIFs. So, here is how one can easily search and respond with GIF by following just few simple steps.
In order to search and send GIFs in WhatsApp, folows these steps:
First of all, open the Whatsapp Chat and click on the + button.
Secondly, select Photo and Video Library to view the camera roll. Now, select a small magnifying glass icon with the word GIF that will appear in the bottom-left corner,to see rows of GIFs.
Browse or search for the specific GIFs of your choice next and finally tap the green arrow to send a GIF you've selected.
One can also create own GIFs and share that on WhatsApp through WhatsApp's GIF-maker.It allows to trim down clips into GIFs up to six seconds long.

To do so, open a Whatsapp chat first. For attachments, tap the paperclip icon at the top right and select Gallery. Next, select the video you want to convert into a GIF.
A video editor will show up next. Click on the camcorder icon at the top right to see GIF appear in its place. Finally edit the video up to six seconds and share that on WhatsApp.
