Sony to further expand TWS portfolio, likely to launch WF-1000XM3 early August
The new TWS from Sony could be launched in the first week of August, even though a date for the same hasnt been confirmed. The earbuds will compete against Apple AirPods Pro and Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2.
The first quarter saw a lot of activity in the True Wireless Stereo (TWS) segment with several players fighting it out to have a bigger share of the pie. A later entrant to the party was Sony India which launched two TWS last month and is now set to expand its portfolio with the launch of another product next month.
The company is likely to launch its flagship-level TWS, Sony WF-1000XM3, Zee Business has learnt. The new TWS from Sony could be launched in the first week of August, even though a date for the same hasn’t been confirmed. The earbuds will compete against Apple AirPods Pro and Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2.
Launched in some other markets, the Sony WF-1000XM 3 comes with HD Noise-Canceling Processor QN1e and Dual Noise Sensor Technology. They are equipped with dual microphones -- one feed-forward and one feed-back - on the surface of the headphones to catch more of the ambient sounds from your surroundings.

The earbuds claim to offer a combined battery life of 24 hours. The earbuds run for around 6 hours with an additional power of 18 hours on the charging case. The company claims that you can get about 32 hours of total playback with noise cancellation turned off.
To recall, the company launched two TWS in India last month - the WF-SP800N and the WF-XB700. The earphones have been priced starting from Rs 9,990 for the affordable XB700 while the premium SP800N has been priced at Rs 18,990.
The Sony WF-SP800N gets a sports-focused design and features active noise cancellation and IP55-certified dust and water resistance. The more affordable Sony WF-XB700 earbuds are a part of the company's ‘Extra Bass' range. The earphones have been tuned for better lows, and feature an IPX4 water resistance rating, with up to 18 hours of battery life.
Both the earbuds have Type-C charging support.
