Despite the price reveal, there is still no word on when the Sony PlayStation 5 will be available in India. Sony has cited local import regulations for the delay in announcing a date, but it is expected to be soon.
“We know that gamers in India are excited to get their hands on PS5. Availability in each country is subject to, amongst other things, local import regulations, and our local teams are working through the logistics. We will share an update on launch date for India as more information becomes available,” a statement from Sony read.
The PS5 will sport 16GB of GDDR6 RAM. Unlike the PS4 which had the traditional hard drive, the PS5 comes with a solid-state drive (SSD). The PS5 will also support 8K graphics, 4K graphics at a 120Hz refresh rate, and 3D audio. What comes as a relief for gamers is that the PS5 will be backwards compatible with PS4 games.
