In yet another bid to expand its range of audio systems and speakers, Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation Sony on Monday announced its latest premium product the Sony HT-Z9F 3.1-channel soundbar. The soundbar comes with dedicated subwoofer, Dolby Atmos support and option rear speakers that allow you to upgrade the system to 5.1-channel one. Sony announced that the HT-Z9F will be launched in India on July 8. Priced at Rs 59,990 in the country, the soundbar is now available for pre-order from Sony stores, brand electronics retailers, and e-commerce portals.

The Sony HT-Z9F soundbar has a three-channel bar speaker, along with a dedicated wireless subwoofer which is included in the above-mentioned price. Notably, the option rear speakers would cost you an extra Rs 9,990. But, as part of its launch offers, Sony has announced that the customers can get these for free if they pre-order the HT-Z9F between July 1 and July 8. 

"The new HT-Z9F, will be a game changer for the home-cinema segment. Our exciting collaboration with Dolby for HT-Z9F will enable users to enjoy cinematic audio powered by Dolby Atmos, right in the comfort of their homes, thus, giving them more reasons to love Sony," Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director, Sony India said while announcing the product. 

Dolby Atmos support

The HT-Z9F comes with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support. One of the highlights of the soundbar is the Vertical Surround Engine, which Sony claims enhances the surround sound experience by virtually simulating overhead and surround channels. Additionally, Sony has included six modes to improve user experience - Cinema, Game, News, Sports, Standard and Music. The HT-Z9F also supports 4K, HDR and Dolby Vision pass through, with HDMI ARC for connectivity. 

"Dolby Atmos transports you from an ordinary moment into an extraordinary experience with moving audio. With the new Sony HT-Z9F, it will now be easier to enjoy the Dolby Atmos experience at home," said Ashim Mathur, Senior Regional Marketing Director, Emerging Markets, Dolby Laboratories. 

Bluetooth, LAN, USB, and Optical-In connectivity

The users will also have the option to connect the soundbar through Bluetooth, LAN, USB, and Optical-In connectivity. Additionally, the HT-Z9F also comes with support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Apart from this, it also features Wi-Fi connectivity and a built-in Chromecast.

The soundbar comes with a remote control which makes it easier to use.  The product can be booked through any of the sales channel - Sony brand shops, major electronic stores and e-commerce platforms.
