Looks like the competition in the premium smartphone segment is about to heat up! Over the last couple of years, OnePlus has dominated the segment with its flagships, something it would have hoped to continue with the launch of OnePlus 7 series. However, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer faces tough competition this time with many other manufacturers announcing their flagships in a gap of weeks. While the Honor 20 Pro and the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom have already entered the market, Xiaomi too is ready to disrupt the segment with the launch of Redmi K20 and K20 Pro.

Both the smartphones are expected to arrive in India on July 15 and to build anticipation, Xiaomi has started to tease the phones. The campaign started with a bang as the Chinese smartphone manufacturer trolled OnePlus. Only a few days ago, the Redmi India account tweeted, "Somebody jus+ announced the world’s fastest phone."

No points for guessing what the '+' instead of 't' stood for. Along with this, the company also promised to beat that, adding "hold my AnTuTu". And, delivering on that promise, Xiaomi has shared Redmi K20 Pro's score, claiming it to be the first smartphone ever. The score stands at 388,803, which is currently the highest in AnTuTu’s charts. The older Xiaomi Mi 9 also scores higher than the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Redmi's new tweet that made the score public said "Some celebrations are short-lived", taking another dig at OnePlus.

The K20 series was launched in China last week and is set to arrive in India next month. It comes with flagship level specifications like an octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC along with up to 8GB of RAM. The Redmi k20 Pro also has pop-up selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor just like OnePlus 7 Pro. The company is yet to make the launch date official but Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain did say in a tweet that the "Fastest phone in the world coming soon."
