Samsung Galaxy S8 priced at Rs 49,990 has been launched in the form of a limited-edition Burgundy Red colour. The new Red edition of Samsung Galaxy S8 will be available for sale from April 13 onwards. However, there is a way to get this smartphone for much less. Buyers can avail an additional cashback of Rs 10,000 on this smartphone at all leading retail stores. This offer would also be given on Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones.
According to reports, those who want to avail the cashback need to use the promo code SAM10K while making the payment. The cashback of Rs 10,000 and will be credited to the Paytm wallet of the user after 12 days of delivery, thereby, reducing the price of Samsung Galaxy S8 to Rs 39,990. This would give tough competition to OnePlus 5T, which is priced at Rs 37,999 for the 8GB RAM variant paired with 128GB internal storage.
With this latest launch, Samsung Galaxy S8 will now be available in four colour options of Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Orchid Gray and Burgundy Red.
Commenting on Burgundy Red colour option of Galaxy S8, Aditya Babbar, General Manager, Samsung India, said, “Galaxy S8 continues to be a bestseller, even a year after its launch. The limited edition of Galaxy S8 will set our consumers apart from everyone else. The Burgundy Red edition of Galaxy S8 will wow consumers and allow them to express their own personal style.”
Last year in March, Samsung had launched its flagship phones, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, but the phones were available in the market after April 21 in the colour options of Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Arctic Silver, Coral Blue and Maple Gold.
The Galaxy S8 comes with Samsung’s ‘Infinity’ display, sporting a 5.8-inch QuadHD+ of 2960x1440p resolution. Powered by an octa-core Exynos Series 9 processor, it boasts of features like a 12MP dual-pixel camera with f/1.7 aperture, OIS on the back, an 8MP autofocus camera with f/1.7 aperture. The key feature of S8 is that it is dust and water-resistant besides having an iris scanner with facial recognition functionality.
The company also launched its much-awaited smartphone Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ in February this year at Mobile World Congress 2018 (MWC) at Barcelona, Spain. The smartphones were made available in India from March 17 onwards.
Both the devices, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, run on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor using 10nm process. Galaxy S9 sports a 4GB RAM and 3000mAh battery with fast wired charging tech, while the Galaxy S9+ comes with 6GB RAM and a 3500mAh battery. The new phones run on Android 8.0 Oreo. The Galaxy S9 features a 12MP super speed Dual Pixel camera with autofocus sensor and OIS, while Galaxy S9+ houses a 12MP rear telephoto camera lens with f/2.4 aperture.

The most attractive features of these smartphones are AR Emoji and Bixby. AR Emoji uses AI to analyse 2D image of the user and creates a 3D model reflecting the user’s facial expressions. Both the phones also support Dolby Atmos and are compatible with the next-gen DeX docking system.
