The exact date of launch hasn't been revealed yet. The company said, "It will be announced in upcoming week. "Earlier there were several reports suggesting that the phone could arrive in July. “If we are running such a media event this month, we should be doing something by now. Nothing has progressed since the April delay," Samsung President & CEO Koh Dong-jin told the outlet.

Initially, the foldable smartphone was set to launch on April 26 in the US but it was delayed as multiple review units experienced display issues. Samsung is planning to launch the phone after resolving the defects in its display screen features experienced by the multiple review units.

Some Samsung officials and engineers were given user trial versions. They were spotted using the foldable device at public places, hinting that it was still being tested.

The first ever foldable smartphone is designed to work like a phone and transform into a tablet which perfectly fits into pockets. It features 7.3-inch primary and 4.6 inch secondary display screens for multitasking with 4380 mAh battery. Samsung Fold has three rear cameras - 16MP ultra wide, 12MP wide angle, and 12 MP telephoto camera along with three selfie cameras of 10MP, 8MP, and 10MP.

The Galaxy Fold isn't the only foldable handset having problems either. Huawei too has decided to delay the launch of its Mate X foldable, citing concerns over the longevity of the handset.
