Samsung Galaxy A80 can now be purchased in the select markets, the South Korean Electronics company confirmed on Monday. The latest smartphone in the Galaxy A series was supposed to go on sale in Markets such as Asia, Australia, China, Europe, Hong Kong, Middle East, New Zealand, and Russia in late May, but was delayed. Now, it is available for purchase through online and physical stores in select markets, the company confirmed through a statement. Even though the phone is yet to be launched in India, it should be available in the market by the end of this month.

The launch was confirmed by Yeon Jeong Kim, head of innovation, product planning group at Samsung Electronics to IANS. He said that India is one of the biggest and fast-changing smartphone market for the company. "Our target is to maintain the top position in the Indian smartphone market. If we win the Indian market, we can win any global market. Indians love technology," he said. 

Samsung claims to have sold a record five million units of Galaxy "A series" phones in just 70 days, starting March 1, achieving $1 billion revenue. The company has so far launched six models in the Galaxy A series — Galaxy A50 ₹ 18,100, A30, A20, A10, A70, and A2 Core.

The Galaxy A80 was initially revealed at an event in April. It is priced at EUR 649 (roughly Rs 50,800). The official Samsung Galaxy A80 price in India would be known when the launch is confirmed but is expected to be around the same mark. Also, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy A80 would be available for purchase through online and physical stores, unlike the M series which is only available for online channels.

The smartphone comes with a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) Super AMOLED 'New Infinity Display' panel with 20:9 aspect ratio and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 730G SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. It comes with Samsung's first ever rotating camera module that includes three distinct camera sensors. The primary camera is a 48-megapixel sensor assited by an 8-megapixel secondary sensor and a 3D depth sensing camera. The rotating camera also works as a selfie camera. It comes with 128GB internal storage and packs a 3,700mAh battery along with 25W Super-Fast Charging support.
