Samsung top executive emphasises on 'Responsible AI'
At Galaxy Unpacked 2024, Samsung's TM Roh stresses the importance of responsible AI alongside unveiling new Galaxy products including AI-powered wearables and foldable smartphones.
Samsung Electronics president Tae Moon Roh stressed the importance of striking a balance between pushing the boundaries of AI for human benefit and preventing its misuse at the 'Galaxy Unpacked 2024' event.
"As we advance in innovation, maximizing AI's potential to enhance lives while minimizing its misuse is crucial," Roh emphasized.
"We are actively collaborating with industry leaders to develop safe and inclusive AI technology," he added.
Samsung expanded its wearables portfolio with Galaxy Ring, a health and wellness wearable powered by Galaxy AI, which offers personalized insights including energy tracking, sleep monitoring, heart rate, menstrual cycle tracking, inactive alert, and workout tracking.
"I'm excited to announce our development of a unique Galaxy AI ecosystem," Roh stated.
At the event, Samsung also unveiled the sixth generation foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, alongside Galaxy Buds3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro, designed to enhance mobile experiences in communication, productivity, and creativity.
"Our new products, combined with an AI-infused Galaxy ecosystem, will empower users and enrich their lives," said JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia.
Additionally, Samsung introduced the new Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, both available for pre-order starting July 10 and generally available from July 24.
"Today, we reaffirm our commitment to leveraging technology's potential to benefit society in unprecedented ways," Roh remarked.
He highlighted that Galaxy AI will be integrated into 200 million devices by year-end, foreseeing profound impact.
"All products except Galaxy Ring are available for pre-booking from July 10, with general availability starting July 24," Roh concluded.
