Reliance pushes sales of JioFi ; offers it for Rs 999 during festive season

Reliance Jio has been trying to sell its Wi-Fi dongle, JioFi, with offers that ranged from discounts to cashbacks. Now the company has reduced the price of this device by half to Rs 999.

Jio tweeted out on Tuesday night that it will offer the JioFi for Rs 999. “Festive Celebration begins! Enjoy your digital life with JioFi now only at Rs 999. Limited period offer, starting tomorrow.”

Earlier, JioFi was priced at Rs 1999, thus offering a 50% discount on the device.

The offer will be available for customers from September 20 to September 30 only.

“Offer is valid only on JioFi M2S model. Under this offer, JioFi M2S model will be available at a Special price of Rs 999. This offer cannot be clubbed with any other offer,” Terms and Conditions under the offer read.

To buy the JioFi devie customers have to check the availability of home delivery available in their area. Delivery will be made within three to five days with separate delivery charges of Rs 99. Customers will also need a Jio SIM to use the device.

The Jio SIM can be availed from local retailers, the company said.

In May this year the company was offering 100% cashback on purchase of the JioFi. And on exchange of old dongles, customers would also get 4G data worth Rs 2,010.

In July the company was offering a 20% discount on the device from its earlier listed price of Rs 2499 to Rs 1999. It offered 4G Data and HD voice even on 2G and 3G smartphones and voice plus data worth Rs 1999.

Jio claimed that its JioFi offers download speed up to 150Mbps and upload speed of up to 50Mbps. The device also gives 4G data and HD voice on 2G/3G smartphones, the company said.

“Make Video and HD Voice calls, send SMS and set up even (5+1) Audio & (3+1) Video conference calls with the Jio4GVoice app,” Jio said.

JioFi allows to connect up to 32 devices and connects up to 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices including smartphones, laptops, tablets and smart TVs, the company added.

The JioFi is powered by 2300mAh battery which the company said will support up to five to six hours of surfing time.
