Realme to invest Rs 26.8 crores in Buds Air 3 production in India; creating more employment opportunities
Realme Buds Air 3 will be manufactured in partnership with KHY Electronics and is expected to accelerate the local procurement of production consumables, product accessories, and packaging materials, creating more labor demand for local Indian suppliers.
Global technology brand Realme on Friday announced that it will invest Rs 26.8 crores for the manufacturing of Realme Buds Air 3 in India. The investment in Realme Buds Air 3 production will create up to 1,000 employment opportunities in India, the brand said.
This action re-affirms Realme’s commitment to the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, boosting local production and job generation in the country, the brand said in a statement.
Realme Buds Air 3 will be manufactured in partnership with KHY Electronics and is expected to accelerate the local procurement of production consumables, product accessories, and packaging materials, creating more labor demand for local Indian suppliers, brand further added.
"With this investment, Realme Buds Air 3, our flagship TWS earbuds with best-in-class Active Noise Cancellation, becomes India’s first locally-produced Active Noise Cancellation TWS earbuds with 100% localized production in the country. We always Dare to Leap and have bold and ambitious plans to strengthen our manufacturing capabilities in India. This year we are working towards achieving 100% local production of hearables and wearables as well and meet the burgeoning needs of millions of technology users in the country," Madhav Sheth, CEO, Realme India, VP, Realme, and President, Realme International Business Group said.
With India being one of the most significant growth markets for the company, the company has actively promoted localized production through local investment, technology introduction, talent introduction, and other actions.
Since 2019, Realme has invested Rs 300 crores in establishing eight SMT lines in India for smartphone manufacturing. Currently, all Realme smartphones and smart TVs are 100 per cent Made in India.
To date, the brand has partnered with many OEMs including Bhagwati Products Limited, Videotex International Pvt. Ltd., and KHY electronics to enhance its domestic manufacturing capability.
Realme has also created 13,000+ job opportunities throughout its investment strategies, aiding local manufacturing practices in India.
