OnePlus 12R Launch: Flagship smartphone's display, battery features, specs revealed

OnePlus has commenced the new year with a double announcement, unveiling the screen and battery technologies featured in its highly anticipated performance-centric flagship, the OnePlus 12R. The device is scheduled for an introduction at the Smooth Beyond Belief launch event on January 23, at 19:30 IST, marking the global debut of the OnePlus R Series.

OnePlus has revealed that the OnePlus 12R will showcase an avant-garde screen – a fourth-generation LTPO 120Hz ProXDR display. Building on LTPO technology, which was introduced with the OnePlus 11, the fourth-generation LTPO featured exclusively in the OnePlus 12R enables the screen to adjust its refresh rate even more swiftly than ever before. 

According to the leaked information, Unlike conventional devices limited to a fixed set of refresh rates, LTPO 4.0 on the OnePlus 12R is said to be transitioned between an unprecedented range of refresh rates, including the novel 90Hz and 72Hz options. This ensures optimal performance across various activities, such as gaming, movie watching, or browsing, while simultaneously conserving battery life.

In addition to its screen technology, the OnePlus 12R is expected to be equipped with the most robust battery ever featured in a OnePlus phone, offering a capacity of 5,500mAh.

The battery in the OnePlus 12R is expected to contain SUPERVOOC fast charging and incorporate Battery Health Engine technology.
