Google has widened the competencies of its navigation feature, Google Maps to its wearable gadgets. A report suggests that the tech firm recently unveiled the Pixel Watch 3, which is equipped with offline Google Maps assistance and it will soon be accessible on all other WearOS devices. This feature on the smartwatch will help users navigate without internet connectivity. Google Maps users are quite dependent on the feature while travelling to inaccessible places and they are able to download the directions when the internet is unavailable.

The new feature can be used in Google Maps for Wear OS Beta version 11.140.0701.W on the Pixel Watch 2 and it is predicted to be included in other Wear OS watches as well. After upgrading to the Beta Version, Google Maps users will find a banner that states “Offline maps on the phone are auto-downloaded to the watch.” The application will also highlight a new Offline maps tab placed above the Settings selection. The report says that besides syncing any offline maps that are available on the smartphone, the watch application will inevitably download a map of the user’s area.

Furthermore, the new tool will also offer insight to users about how much storage a downloaded offline map is utilizing on their devices and let the users erase the maps with a single tad. Nevertheless, the offline maps will not provide the same count of tools as compared to the online maps rather it would provide a reliable backup for people going to new or remote areas. Lately,

Google launched six new tools to its Maps feature for Indian users. It has AI-powered Narrow road avoidance, Flyover Navigation, EV Charging station integration, Metro ticket booking, and Reporting of road closures. Google Maps will now emphasize flyovers along with suggested routes in 40 Indian cities helping the drivers prepare better for forthcoming travel.

The tech giant has also joined hands with local specialists to organize a list of suggested places in ten significant cities and tourist spots to improve users’ exploration experiences. These tools can be used on iOS, Android, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
