London-based tech company Nothing's sub-brand is known for offering affordable products. It has been so far making earbuds, smartwatches and neckbands. Reports suggest that CMF is now gearing up to launch a budget smartphone in India. Expected to be named CMF Phone (1), the smartphone may hit the stores at half the price of Nothing Phone (2a) - Nothing's most affordable smartphone launched so far.

Some of the design elements and specifications have leaked online ahead of the expected launch. According to reports, CMF's first phone may come with a plastic body - clearly hinting that it would be an entry-level smartphone.

While the device is expected to run on Nothing OS out of the box, the smartphone is likely to be available in three colour options - Orange, Black and White.

Reports suggest that the company may provide up to three years of Android updates and four years of security updates with this smartphone.

Also, the device is expected to have a 6.5-inch display and offer an HD+ panel. While this will be a 5G smartphone, there is no update about the exact chipset used in the device. However, reports suggest that a MediaTek 5G chipset will power it. In terms of battery, the smartphone is likely to have a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. There is not much information available about the camera specs, but it will most likely have a single camera setup at the rear. 

Nothing Phone (2a)

Earlier this year, Nothing launched its highly anticipated smartphone, Phone (2a). Priced at Rs. 23,999/-, the Phone (2a) comes in three configurations: 8/128 GB, 8/256 GB, and 12/256 GB, available in black and white colour options. Powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor, the Phone (2a) boasts impressive features including a 50 MP(OIS) + 50 MP rear camera setup, a 32 MP front camera, a 5000 mAh battery, a 120Hz flexible AMOLED display, and Nothing OS 2.5 powered by Android 14.
