New Twitter feature: Twitter is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to choose who can reply to their tweets. The new feature aims to provide a better experience by getting rid of unwanted replies and harassment on its platform. The new feature would enable the audience to like and reshare a post but they would not be able to reply to the tweets unless allowed by the user.
The new Twitter feature will also help users deal with trolls by restricting replies to select number of people. Currently, the feature has been made available to a handful of people globally but Twitter is planning to roll out the feature for all its users soon.

How will new Twitter feature work?
- When you start putting out a tweet, an option that reads “Everyone can reply” will appear.
- Here, you will get three options - “everyone, “people you follow” and “Only people you mention”.
- Select the option to restrict the replies on your tweets.
If you select either of “people you follow” or “Only people you mention”, Twitter will label it and the reply icon will be lightened or grayed out so that readers can understand that they cannot reply to the tweet. Those who have the permission, can continue to reply to your tweets.
The micro-blogging platform already has an option that allows users to hide the replies from their timeline to give people some control over the conversations on the micro-blogging platform. It also redesigned its app a bit by including threaded replies, this gives a better view to users about who posted what.
