Google has invested sufficient time to establish local production of the Pixel 8 smartphones in India and has been falling behind the likes of Apple which has been manufacturing iPhones with its vendors in India for several years. Google also has plans to set up a local assembly in association with local vendors however the company has not disclosed any further details about it. It is also uncertain whether the domestic production is restricted to the Pixel 8 handsets or the production of the Pixel 8 Pro version will also take place in India from now onwards.

Speculations are rife that Google might sell the Pixel 8 Made in India smartphones at a cheaper price in the country, which might change the image of the tech giant.  Experts say that Apple spent a couple of years before stabilizing the prices of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models that were manufactured in the country, hence, it is predicted that Google might take a similar time frame to reduce the prices of the Pixel 8 made in India handsets for domestic users in the country.

However, just a day before the announcement of the new Pixel 9 series for the Indian market, Google declared that users will be allowed to shop at the premium table this year. The company has announced that the Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will also be coming to India but further details of these products are still unknown.
