Made-in-India battle royale Indus game launch on October 16: Battle mode and more details inside
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recently announced that the Centre saw a 412 per cent hike in revenue from the increased levy on online gaming.
With an official moto to ‘put India on the global gaming map’, Pune-based gaming studio, SuperGaming, has announced that its Made-in-India battle royale Indus game will be launched on October 16. The game will be compatible with both Android and iOS devices. The gaming studio has been working on the mobile shooting game for the last two years and released the Indus beta version earlier in August this year.
Seemingly inspired by ancient civilisations, with gamers playing as Mythwalkers, the game is set on an island named Virlok, located on a futuristic planet named Indus. The game’s activities include battling other players and collecting a rare resource dubbed ‘Cosmium’. To succeed, players need to be mindful of the island’s ever-changing terrain and the storms that affect it.
The game features several interesting weapons, including a sniper rifle, SFR-4, Vantage, and another sophisticated rifle. The company seeks to generate revenue through in-app purchases of weapons and other items.
Notably, the game also has a unique mechanism called ‘Grudge’, which allows gamers to track the players who defeated them so that the defeat could be avenged. The game divides the player into two roles- Hunter and Defender. Hunter is allowed to track down their targets and the Defender receives a warning of the threats. The developers claim that neither role is given a disproportionate advantage.
The company has stated that on Android alone the game has more than 12.5 million pre-registrations. Additionally, SuperGaming plans to bring Indus battle royale on different platforms like consoles and PC.
In other developments related to gaming in India, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recently announced that the Centre saw a 412 per cent hike in revenue from the increased levy on online gaming, as per the status report submitted to the fitment committee. The announcement followed the September meeting of the GST Council.
