You may ask why on flash sale? Selling the phone via flash sale may enable Reliance Jio to get an idea if the phone is really that popular and desired by the masses. If the phone fails to generate more demand, Reliance Jio may opt for limited availability of the phone.

JioPhone 2 is powered with a horizontal screen 2.4-inch QVGA display and a full QWERTY keypad. It runs on KAI operating system and has 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB.

The 4G phone features a 2 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera and is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery.

"With the added functionalities, newly launched JioPhone 2 model and Jio’s wider network reach and strong retail presence across India, JioPhone is well on its way to enable 100 million users on this JioPhone platform in the shortest possible time," said Jio in a statement.

Starting 15th August, JioPhone customers will be able to enjoy Facebook, YouTube and Google Maps. Jio has also said that WhatsApp will be available on JioPhone devices soon.
