After WhatsApp and Messenger, Facebook has introduced new stickers on Instagram to spread awareness about the importance of staying home during the coronavirus crisis. The new Instagram stickers are already available to all Android and iOS users. The stickers urge Instagram users to ‘Stay at Home’ and there is a sticker in Hindi too for Indian users which says “ghar pe raho”. The stickers are available in English and Hindi language only.

You need to ensure that you are using the latest version of the app. This can be done by updating the app through Google Play Store or App Store. Once updated, open Instagram and add a new story. Click a picture using phone’s camera or upload one from the ones already on the device.

After this, you need to swipe up the sticker icon and find the sticker in the sticker tray. You can search by typing ‘Stay at Home’. The default option will be the sticker with the text Stay Home.

However, you can tap on it and toggle to a non-text version. Once the image is uploaded, you will be able to see a “Stay Home” story at the front of stories bar when other friends post a story with the “Stay Home” sticker.

Other efforts by Instagram

The other efforts made by the platform to curb the spread of misinformation include

a new feature called Co-Watching, which will let you browse posts with your friends over in-app video chat. The feature can be accessed by starting a video chat through the Instagram Direct messaging tab and tapping the photo icon in the bottom left of the video chat screen. It lets you look at saved, liked, and recommended posts together as a group.
