Instagram explores new "Sticker Creation" feature to revolutionise reels and stories
The feature, known as "Sticker Creation," enables users to transform their photos into customised stickers for seamless integration into their social media content.
Instagram is currently experimenting with a groundbreaking feature that could redefine the way users interact with Reels and Stories.
Instagram head, Adam Mosseri, shared a video on his broadcast channel explaining this exciting new development.
The feature, known as "Sticker Creation," enables users to transform their photos into customised stickers for seamless integration into their social media content.
Mosseri explained, "We're testing a way for you to turn photos into custom stickers to use in Reels and Stories. You can create stickers from photos in your Camera Roll or from images you see on Instagram."
How to create Instagram Stickers:
Once this feature becomes universally available, users will enjoy the ability to create personalised stickers from their Instagram photo gallery. Here's how to create your own stickers:
- Open the Instagram app and start a new Story or Reel
- Tap on the sticker icon
- Select the "Create" sticker option
- Choose your preferred photo that you wish to convert into a sticker
- Use your finger to outline the area of the photo that you want to turn into a sticker
- After selecting the object for the sticker, tap on the "Done" button
- Your custom sticker will be added to your sticker palette
- Now you can seamlessly incorporate it into any of your stories or reels
Availability and Testing:
While this feature has generated immense buzz, it's important to note that it is currently in the testing phase and has not been made available to all Instagram users. Initially, the feature was spotted by Engadget and was seen in Instagram notifications of iOS users.
Comment Poll Feature Testing:
In addition to the sticker creation feature, Instagram is also in the process of testing another engaging functionality, the ability to create polls in the comments section of posts. This feature is designed to offer creators and users an exciting new way to interact with content. Adam Mosseri revealed, "We are starting a small test to add or vote on a poll in the comments of any feed post or reel. We're always looking for new ways to interact with friends and creators."
