Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 was launched in India on Thursday afternoon in an event in New Delhi. The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is a mid-range smartphone that comes with a pop-up selfie camera and aims to take on the Oppo K3, the Realme X and the Redmi K20 in the Indian market. The smartphone will go on sale through Amazon India, as confirmed by the e-commerce website's dedicate page, even before the launch. The other highlights of the smartphone include a full-HD+ display and Huawei's octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710F SoC.

Speaking at the launch, Saurabh Saggi, Sr Manager, Head, Corporate Communications, Brand Marketing- Huawei devices India said that the both Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei P30 series have been a major hit, driving company's growth. He said that the company is investing 12 to 15 per cent annual revenue in research which helps it come up with localised innovations. He added that company's existing users will continue to receive updates as promised.

Huawei Y9 Prime 2019: Price in India

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 price in India has been set at Rs 15,990 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. In Kenya, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is available at KSH 23,499 (roughly Rs 15,600) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration. In Saudi Arabia, it sells at SAR 969 (roughly Rs 17,800). The phone comes in two colour options: Emerald Green, and Sapphire Blue. The first sale is slated for August 7 and the pre-booking for the smartphone will start on August 5. As part of launch offers, SBI customers will get 10 per cent discount and Jio customers will get benefits too.

Huawei Y9 Prime 2019: Features and Specifications 

The smartphone is more or less an upgrade on the Huawei Y9 which was launched in India earlier this year. The smartphone comes with a 6.59-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) LCD panel with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the octa-core Kirin 710F SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM.  The processor claims to enhance the running speed and lowers the power consumption.

At the back, the phone gets a triple camera setup that sports a 16-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor. On the front, the phone gets a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera module. The internal storage on the phone can be expanded using the microSD card (up to 512GB).
