According to The Sun report, what's most impressive about the speed boosts is that the iOS 12 update is still only in beta mode, which is a test version of the software. It simply means it's not finalised and could contain plenty of bugs. So, if you do go for update, be warned that it may affect your handset in unknown, perhaps even dangerous ways. How to install iOS 12 public beta on your iPhone
 
Step 1. Go to beta.apple.com and sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program.
Step 2. On the iOS device where you want to install the beta, run a backup using iTunes or iCloud.
Step 3. From Safari on your iOS device, go to beta.apple.com/profile and sign into your Apple account.
Step 4. Click the Download Profile button and when the dialog box for the iOS Beta Software Profile pops up, click Install.
Step 5. Plug in your device to a power source.
Step 6. Go to General > Software Update and you'll see an option for the iOS 12 Public beta.
Step 7. Click Download and Install.
Step 8. Follow the prompts after the installation and start using iOS 12.
