1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.

2. Tap the three vertical dots on the top right corner.

3. You will have to add a payment method.

4. Enter details, accept and Continue.

5. Choose your bank from the list.

6. Give WhatsApp permissions to make calls and send SMS.

7. The Payment option will be added.

Now, you can open any chat and click on the paperclip next to the camera icon. Tap on Payments and you can start sending money, if the other user also has Payments options activated.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is working to extend end-to-end encryption across its messaging applications, including Facebook Messenger and Instagram. "Strong encryption is a necessity in modern life. We will not compromise on security because that would make people less safe," it recently said.
