To make the platform more convenient for these users, WhatsApp is currently working on a Dark Theme. The feature was already launched for the mobile application and can soon make its way to the web version of the app too. WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo said that the feature is under development but they have found a way by which WhatsApp users can enable the dark theme on the web interface.

“We have published an article about the development of the Dark Theme on WhatsApp Web. The feature is still under development, but today we’re ready to provide a way to enable it before the official release,” WABetaInfo wrote on its page on Saturday.

How to enable Dark Mode on WhatsApp Web

- Go to the official page of WhatsApp web web.whatsapp.com.

- Open WhatsApp on your phone and tap on the three-dot icons on the top right corner.

- Select WhatsApp Web and scan the QR Code on the computer screen with your phone.

- Right click on the blank area outside chat and select inspect.

- On the code page, find string— body class=“web”

- You need to replace web with web dark to activate the Dark Mode.

As the feature is yet to be rolled out officially, the page turns back to normal when you refresh or close it. You can also turn on the Dark Mode for WhatsApp Web using some plugins on the Chrome browser. The WhatsApp tracker also confirmed that the Dark Theme is not yet available and the platform is testing the feature in order to ensure a bug-free experience.
