Huawei's Honor launched its new smartphone Honor Play at JW Marriot, Aerocity in Delhi today. Those who are interested in the product can also watch live stream of the launch event from the company’s official YouTube channel. One can also follow the company’s social media accounts for updates.

The launch of Honor Play was announced with the help of a teaser posted on Amazon India two weeks ago. The teaser didn’t reveal a lot of details, but it mentioned that the smartphone will come loaded with Kirin 970 SoC. 

According to BGR report, the chipset will support Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology, which is claimed by the firm can offer a good gaming experience, while reducing battery consumption. The device will also be backed by some AI features, said the report.

Exclusively avaialble on Amazon India, the price of smartphone hasn’t been revealed yet, but the new device has already been launched in China, where it is being sold at RMB 1,999 (approximately Rs 21,300) for the 4GB RAM variant, and RMB 2,399 (approximately Rs 24,300) for the 6GB RAM variant, the report added.

The new Honor phone will have features including a 6.3-inch HD+ (2340×1080 pixels) display sporting a tall aspect ratio of 19.5:9, a notch at the top, Kirin 970 SoC, and backed by 4GB and 6GB RAM options. The smartphone carries an internal storage of 64GB, while connectivity options include, dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS with A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port, said the BGR report.

Besides, the new device will also boasts of a dual-camera setup at the back, comprising a 16-megapixel sensor running side-by-side a 2-megapixel sensor. Up front, there is a 16-megapixel camera, which will reportedly to come with AI recognition and augmented reality features.

Backed by 3,750mAh battery, the Honor Play will run Android 8.1 Oreo layered with EMUI 8.1 on top of it.
