Homegrown climate-tech company Aurassure partners with tech major to enhance availability of granular air-quality data
According to the company, the partnership commenced with a pilot project in the City of Bhubaneswar, where Aurassure collaborated with key government stakeholders such as the CRUT (transport authority) and STPI.
Hyperlocal climate-tech company Aurassure, which provides IoT-enabled intelligent systems, to address environmental concerns effectively, has partnered with the tech major to address the significant data gaps in understanding air quality, particularly in India. Additionally, government stakeholders can utilise this data to formulate targeted action plans for improving air quality, addressing emissions, and identifying pollution hotspots.
According to the company, the partnership commenced with a pilot project in the City of Bhubaneswar, where Aurassure collaborated with key government stakeholders such as the CRUT (transport authority) and STPI to install devices in public buses and various locations throughout the city.
“Aurassure's collaboration with the tech major enhances the availability of granular air-quality data, empowers individuals and governments to take proactive measures, and contributes to a more sustainable and healthier environment for communities across India,” said Akanksha Priyadarshini, Founder of Aurassure.
Priyadarshini said that the key change that Aurassure brings is democratizing access to comprehensive air quality data.
The partnership allows residents of not only major cities but also smaller towns and rural areas to make informed decisions about their daily activities based on real-time pollution levels. Additionally, this data enables users to choose cleaner routes for travel. Moreover, Aurassure's sensors ensure accuracy, with correlation factors of over 85% with co-location studies with the government monitoring stations. This reliability enhances the trustworthiness of the data provided, encouraging both individuals and government stakeholders to take targeted actions to mitigate pollution.
According to Aurassure, it has actively engaged in partnerships with government entities to address air quality issues collaboratively. Initially, the company conducted pilot projects on a private basis, but it has since expanded its efforts to include collaborations with various government bodies.
Aurassure has signed MOUs with government agencies in several cities, including Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai and Chennai municipalities. These agreements formalize the partnership and outline joint efforts to monitor and improve air quality within these regions. Additionally, Aurassure has received official letters of support from municipal corporations, further solidifying its collaboration with local government authorities.
