Google lets users leave and read 'Notes' on search results - Here's how it works
According to Google, they developed this feature as their research showed that users are interested in what people like them are saying about a given web page.
Google is one place where we tend to go most of the time when searching for some detail. The tech major is now working on a feature that will let users not just read results they searched for but also leave 'Notes' and read what others think.
"Notes will let people share their knowledge right on Search, helping others find the best answers for their weirdest or most wonderfully unique questions, and discover what’s most useful for them on the web," the tech major said in a blog post.
According to Google, they developed this feature as their research showed that users are interested in what people like them are saying about a given web page.
The feature will let users add a new layer of human insights to your search results. So when you search for a particular topic, you can easily see what others who have been there have to say about it in Notes.
"In this new experiment, you can get helpful context about a web page so you can better identify information that might be most useful for you — or you can share your expertise with the world," the company said,
This will not only help users narrow down the most relevant information but also may help them see what worked for others who have been there before.
How to enable 'Notes' feature
In order to enable this feature, users will have to visit the Google app. On the left corner, you will see a 'Search Lab' icon. Click on it and enable the feature.
Once you’ve opted into Notes in Search Labs, you’ll see a “Notes” button appear below search results in the Google app, and on articles on Discover. Tap this button, and you can see what others have said about the web page.
