Now, you can download Spotify even on an older version of Android phones! The highest subscriber boasting music app, Spotify introduced its "Lite" version in India for older Android phone-holders, which is a small, fast and simplified version and just 10 MB in size.

"You’ll still be able to search and play your favorite songs and artists, save them, share with others, discover new music, and enjoy playlists made just for you, but with a few extra features making it ideal for older devices and operating systems," Spotify said in a statement on the launch of Lite in India. 

With Spotify Lite, you can easily control your data and storage. "No need to worry if you’re running low on storage—Spotify Lite also allows you to control your cache, and clear it with a single tap," the company said in a statement. For Data control, Spotify Lite comes with the ability to set a data limit and notified when you reach it.

The new version of Spotify app "Lite" can be downloaded separately both for free and Spotify Premium users and can be used either alongside or independently from the main Spotify app on all Android phones version 4.3 and higher. 

Spotify Lite is now available in 36 markets across Asia, Latin America, Middle East, and Africa on Google Play. Whereas the main music streaming app, Spotify is available in 79 market, which has 207 million active users globally and 96 million of these users are Spotify Premium subscribers. In India, it came in February of this year and got one million followers within the week of its launch.
