As useful as WhatsApp is, it does come with some features that may annoy you. For example, we all have run out of storage on our smartphone at some point due to WhatsApp's auto download feature. Of course, that can be changed by going to settings and opting for manual download. While in this case WhatsApp has an answer to your problem, there are few issues that are yet to be addressed. This exposes you to lame jokes, good morning messages, unnecessary videos and irritating poems. How to stop people from adding you to WhatsApp groups?

1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.

2. Go to Settings and look for 'Accounts' section.

3. Inside the 'Accounts' section, tap on 'Privacy'

4. Tap on groups.

5. You will be given three options to choose from: ‘Everyone’, ‘My Contacts’ and ‘Nobody’.

6. Tap on the option as per your preference.

WhatsApp selects ‘Everyone’ option for you by default. This means that anyone can add you to a group. In case you opt for ‘My Contacts’, only people in your contact list would be able to add you to a group. And, if you select ‘Nobody’ option, you will be sent an invite every time someone tries to add you to a group.
