The issue came up for discussion in the Parliament and demands were raised to regulate it and even putting a ban on it.

Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Sushil Kumar Modi said that crores of youngsters are now addicted to the online gaming.

The online games which were earlier a source of entertainment is not turning into addiction and gambling.

This addiction is causing people to play online games for non-stop 24 hrs.

Modi, who raised the issue in the Parliament said that the government must take actions to regulate it.

“Online gaming has been converted into gambling and betting and now there is a controversy that it is a game of skill or is it a game of a chance,” Modi said.

“I would urge the Government of India that uniform tax on online gaming,” Moi further said.

He also urged the government to make a comprehensive framework for online gaming.
