CEO Tim Cook has launched the cheapest Apple iPad priced at Rs 28,000. The US technology giant Apple had organised an event at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago to unveil new iPads, claimed to be the company's "most affordable iPad". Report say the new tablets are Apple's answer to Google's Chromebooks and other affordable laptops. The Cupertino-based company website describes it to be "like a computer. Unlike any computer", and adds, "If the computer was invented today, what would it look like? It would be powerful enough for any task. So mobile you could take it everywhere. And so intuitive you could use it any way you wanted — with touch, a keyboard or even a pencil.1 In other words, it wouldn’t really be a “computer”. It would be the new iPad."

The cheapest iPads will reportedly be launched in India during April, along with Russia, Thailand, Turkey and other countries. It may be added that the iPad weighs less than 1KG and offers 10-hours of battery backup.
Talking about its features, the website says that it multitasks easily. So you can too, and further adds, "iPad packs enough power to use multiple apps all at once. Work on your business plan while doing research on the web while making a FaceTime call to a colleague at the same time. It’s even easier than it sounds. Augmented reality (AR) is a new technology that brings virtual objects into the real world. And every aspect of iPad — from the display to the processing power to the cameras to the motion sensors — is designed to make AR apps more magical than ever before," says the website.
The new iPad, which sports a 9.7-inch Retina screen, and features an aluminum unibody construction, comes with TouchID. According to reports, for video-chatting there's HD FaceTime camera, and at the back, there's 8-megapixel camera. The new 9.7 inch iPad will be able to use Apple's Pencil stylus, which costs an additional Rs 7,600. The Apple Pencil will come with its own set of apps. There's also support for third-party accessories like Logitech keyboard and Crayon pencil. Apple Pencil was first introduced for iPad Pro.
