We should know that panic always works in such incidents, and odds are, if fake customer care says that users’ devices are under an immediate and urgent virus threat and asks them to place a call to their fake customer support numbers, users are most likely to follow such deceptive instructions. Security experts say that these hackers exist everywhere and they are capable of forcing the victims into sharing sensitive information such as bank credentials and passwords. 

On the other hand, AI has worsened the situation in this regard. We know that Artificial Intelligence has made these scams harder to identify and detect. Hackers are utilizing the loopholes of the technology and giving security specialists a nightmare. In these frauds, the AI tool lets the scammers create a website that appears to be genuine, as it features the logo of Apple or Microsoft making it difficult for users to smell the trouble.

Technologies like deep-fake videos and AI voice cloning have given birth to a new dark side of such frauds due to which innocent users are invariably getting trapped in such scams and losing their well-earned money.
