Asus VivoBook 14 X403 Design

The Asus VivoBook 14 X403 is a simple and elegant looking device with minimum bezels. The metal body makes the laptop look premium and you can flaunt it while walking into the office or college. The laptop is really slim which is always good to see on a Windows device. It features a 14-inch LCD display which adds to the style quotient.

Despite the smaller screen size and compact design, Asus has managed to fit in a large enough trackpad on the Asus VivoBook 14 X403 which also houses a fingerprint sensor. The device comes with two USB 2.0 ports, a USB 3.0 port, a USB-C Thunderport port, an HDMI port, a headphone jack and a microSD card slot.

Everything else remains the same like a usual laptop.

Asus VivoBook 14 X403 Display and Performance

The Vivobook 14 sports a 14-inch FHD panel with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution which offers a highly immersive viewing experience. You realise the true potential of this laptop while streaming FULL HD content on it. The screen is sharp and offers decent viewing experience from odd angles as well. Personally, I feel that the brightness level could have been better and it could be a problem while watching shows set in the dark.

For audio, the Vivobook 14 features built-in 2W stereo speakers that use ASUS’ SonicMaster Audio technology. For some reason, Asus decided to place these speakers under the laptop which reduces the audio output when the laptop is placed on a surface. So, you will be better served while using the device with a headset.

The VivoBook 14 X403 is powered by the Intel Core i7 8565U processor and comes paired with 8GB DDR3 RAM as standard along with a 512GB PCIe SSD for storage. You are unlikely to face any problem while doing your daily tasks. Since, we had the laptop for a limited period, could't test it for gaming.

If you plan to buy this laptop, battery will be the key driving factor. The VivoBook 14 X403 claims to offer 24-hour battery life and even when we had the device connected to WiFi and used it for accessing emails, complete daily tasks and surf the internet, we were able to get around 18 to 19 hours of usage on a single charge.

Final verdict

At 14-inch, the VivoBook 14 X403 is a Windows laptops that can fit into your bag and be carried around in hand with ease. It delivers a good performance and offers a highly impressive battery life that allows you leave the power adapter at home. The elegant Silver Blue colour gives this machine a more premium look and Asus has smartly priced the VivoBook 14 X403 at Rs 54,990, making it an affordable option for most laptop buyers.

So, if you are not into heavy gaming and are looking for a device that can handle your daily tasks without breaking the bank, this could be a good option.
