Asus ROG Phone 8 Price in India: Asus has continued its mobile gaming journey with the launch of the ROG Phone 8 Series. The ROG Phone 8 Series has three smartphones - ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro and ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition. Here's the first impression of the ROG Phone 8 Pro.
Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro First Impression - Design
Asus ROG Phone 8 comes with several upgrades, with the most noticeable one being its design. The smartphone looks refreshed and is 15 per cent thinner than the previous generation. The body has a matte finish which ensures there will be no smudges even after extended gaming sessions.
Another visible change in terms of design is the triple camera setup at the back. While I'll talk about camera features later, let me tell you that the camera module helps ROG Phone 8 clearly distinguish itself from its predecessors. The module is now more squarish in shape and also placed well so that it won't rub against your fingers while you are playing a game.
The smartphone weighs just 225 grams and feels just like any other flagship device available in the market while holding in hand. The weight distribution of the device is good and feels comfortable when held in hand. ASUS has reduced the battery size to make the device thinner. The smartphone now comes with a 5,500mAh battery. However, the company claims that the change has just a one or two per cent impact on the overall battery life of the device. Also, it now has IP68 ratings.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, which is undoubtedly one of the best and latest chipsets available in the market.
Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro First Impression - Display
The ROG Phone 8 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and supports up to 165Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate. While I didn't get a chance to extensively test this during the briefing session, scrolling through apps felt smooth. Also, the bezels are quite thin and near-symmetrical all around.
Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro First Impression - Camera
The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro comes with a triple camera setup with a main camera of 50MP with Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0. For the first time, the ROG Phone 8 Pro variant includes a 32MP 3X telephoto lens with built-in OIS. The smartphone also has a 13MP ultrawide camera with a free-form lens. For selfies, the smartphone has a 32MP ultrawide selfie camera. While I didn't get to test camera features, these specs surely look promising.
Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro First Impression - AniMe Vision
The AniMe Vision of the new ROG Phone 8 series has 341 Mini-LEDs that can display some handy info like battery level or even the brand's logo.
All these features make the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro more than just a gaming smartphone. While I still need to test this smartphone before reaching any conclusion, my first impression of this smartphone is quite good. With all the changes, Asus has made it clear that its gaming smartphone has now evolved enough to target even people looking to buy a flagship-level smartphone that can handle all the tough tasks easily.
