Apple Music has introduced a new tool that helps users effortlessly allocate their playlists to YouTube Music, streamlining the method of swapping between streaming platforms. The feature is available via the Data and Privacy page of Apple and provides a simpler technique to switch playlists without losing any data on their existing Apple Music account. Users need to make sure that they fulfil a couple of preconditions such as a working subscription to Apple Music or iTunes Match and a working YouTube Music account to use this new feature.

The new feature precisely moves only the playlists that are designed by users along with any combined playlists they have. Nevertheless, users cannot transfer uploaded music files to YouTube Music. Similarly, the playlists that are shared with others, not collaboratively possessed, and curated playlists cannot be transferred.  Organizational folders that users have created for their playlists in Apple Music cannot be moved. Audio media like audiobooks, podcasts, and user-uploaded music cannot be transferred. The tech giant has notified that only song tracks that are accessible on YouTube Music will be moved.

Users need to go to Apple’s Data and Privacy page, log in to their Apple ID, and choose the selection to “Transfer a copy of your data” to commence the transfer. Then they will be directed through the procedure that consists of logging into their YouTube Music account to finish the transfer. The tech giant Apple would issue email notifications to the addresses linked to users’ Apple IDs throughout the entire transfer procedure.

Users can keep track of the transfer progress or stop the transfer on Apple’s Data and Privacy page. Once the transfer is done, users will be informed by a confirmation email from Apple to search their playlists in the Library tab of YouTube Music. It is essential to know that if a song track from a playlist is not available on YouTube Music, it will be delivered from the moved playlist. Furthermore, any upgrades introduced to the playlist after the transfer will not be shown on YouTube Music, and stopping the transfer might show a few effectively moved playlists in YouTube Music.
