Apple iPhone LCD variant launch may be delayed; here is why

The US technology firm Apple’s 6.1-inch LCD iPhone may not be available for sale until October this year because of delay in production of the new devices. This is learnt to have happened due to the near-bezel-free design. Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty, an Apple analyst, told 9to5Mac, “We currently see no delay in the ramp of Apple’s upcoming flagship 5.8″ or 6.5″ OLED iPhones. However suspected issues with LED backlight leakage have caused a 1 month delay in mass production of the 6.1″ LCD iPhone, although this is down from a 6-week delay baked into the original production forecast, according to suppliers.”
 
The technology giant is gearing up to launch three new smartphones later this year, including the largest iPhone ever, a device that is expected to have a bigger display than arch-rival Samsung's flagship phone.  The first two devices are expected to cater to the high-end market, while the third one is likely to be a new TFT-LCD model which could possibly be the most affordable iPhone from the US company.
 
Recently, an online report shared videos and photos claiming to be the upcoming variants of iPhone 9 and iPhone X Plus. Tipster Shai Mizrachi had shared these details with 9to5Mac showing the two dummy devices (iPhone 9 and iPhone X Plus) in phone cases. 
 
If we take those videos into consideration, the iPhone 9 will come with a 6.1-inch edge-to-edge display with a notch and a single rear camera towards the back. The new device is expected to be priced slighter cheaper than others models, at $700, as it adopts an LCD-TFT display.
 
Since the purported iPhone X Plus is held next to the iPhone 7 Plus, and sports a shorter and narrower form factor, the new model is likely to feature a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a notch. It may also be the most expensive iPhone, with a price tag of over $1000.

Apple is reportedly running production tests with suppliers and is expected to announce the new phones later this year, but there is confirmation about the development, therefore, the plan may undergo a change.
