Apple iPhone 8, iPhone X among most searched on Google
The Google has released a list of most searched topics in various categories so far in 2017, and Apple Inc's two latest launches, iPhone 8 and iPhone X, are the highly browsed across nations.
There were many sections available in Google 2017 trending list like Searches, People, Global News, Consumer Tech, Elections, Actors and many more.
Under the “searches” category, Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone X stood at second and third spot, following Hurricane Irma which was on lead.
Apple iPhone 8 was launched on September 22, 2017 in India, with Apple CEO Tim Cook making an appearance via video link. However, iPhone X was unveiled for sale on November 03, 2017 with various offers.
The iPhone 8 price in India starts from Rs 64,000 for the 64GB variant and Rs 77,000 for the one with 256GB storage, while iPhone X was offered at Rs 1,02,000. iPhone X is the first mainstream handset in India to cross the Rs 1 lakh-mark.
Not only this, iPhone 8 and iPhone X also took lead in the “consumer tech” category, on the first and second spot respectively.
Under this category, Nintendo Switch was at the third spot, followed by Samsung Galaxy S8, Xbox One X, Nokia 3310, Razer Phone, Oppo F5, Oneplus 5 and Nokia 6.
Apart from these products, Hurricane Irma referred to as an extremely powerful and catastrophic Cape Verde-type hurricane was the most searched news on Google.
Bitcoin, which has recently stolen limelight with heavy trading, was on the second spot in “Global News” category on Google, following Hurricane Irma.
Although trading in Bitcoin came into effect from 2009, this cryptocurrency became the most searched topic on Google this year.
From January 2013 to till date, Bitcoin has gained up to a whopping 1,22,396.07% or 1225 times.
