American technology firm Apple is likely to introduce iPhone 8 and 8 Plus smartphones in its lineup in red colour. The decision has been taken following its partnership with Product (RED), an advocacy group dedicated to combating HIV/AIDS in Africa. A memo from Virgin Mobile, which says that Apple will announce the phone option on Monday, was reportedly viewed by Verge, MacRumors revealed. The memo reportedly stated that Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus smartphones will be available for pre-order, but did not clarify whether the red colour will be a part of the iPhone X edition.

Last year, Apple had unveiled smartphones, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, in a vibrant red aluminium finish as part of the partnership with Product (RED) charity. The US tech firm is the world`s largest corporate donor to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, contributing more than $130 million as part of its partnership with (RED).

Apple iPhone 8 Plus was launched with iPhone 8 last year. With 64 GB of internal storage, it was priced at Rs 73,000, but now available on Flipkart with a hefty price cut. Flipkart slashed the price of iPhone 8 Plus under Apple Week sale, which started on April 3 and will continue till April 9.

Flipkart also offered a cashback of Rs 8,000 on ICICI Bank Credit Cards, but the cashback is only applicable if you buy the smartphone on EMI.

Meanwhile, iPhone 8, which is equipped with a 12MP rear camera along with a 7MP front-facing camera, sports a 5.5-inch Retina HD display and is powered by an A11 Bionic chipset, running iOS 11. The iPhone 8 along with iPhone 8 Plus were revealed during the 10th Apple anniversary.
