Similar to the previous years’ launch, the iPhone 15 series is also expected to include two standard models and two Pro models.

However, this time the Pro models, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, are expected to be more advanced devices.  Here’s a look into the expected upgrades in the Pro models of the latest iPhone series.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max design

The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be using a new titanium alloy body for their chassis, which was made of steel in previous versions, according to reports. Titanium has its own range of benefits over stainless steel as the metal is much stronger and is also lighter. However, steel on the hand was more scratch registrant.

Besides the body, the upcoming pro models of iPhone, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, will be continuing to have their respective 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes. Additionally, the bezels are expected to be resized from 2.17mm to 1.55mm.

Meanwhile, the new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are expected to have four variants in colours which includes, dark blue, a lighter silver-grey, a space black and a natural titanium. As per some unofficial claims, it’s possible that there will not be any gold colour variant this year.

Camera

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are anticipated to have the 48MP IMX803 as primary camera, but there is a chance of getting a new 13.4MP f/2.2 ultra wide and superior 7p lens.

Apart from that, the key difference between the two phones will be the new periscope zoom as it is only available to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new periscope zoom lens will be a 5x or 6x zoom camera. According to reports, the sensor could measure 1/2.9" and the lens will be relatively bright at f/2.8.

Other new updates

As per the reports, iPhone 15 models will get the previous A16 SoC, however, the Pro models will be upgraded to have the revolutionary A17 chipset. It is going to be the first chipset to be built on a 3nm process and will supply a 10% to 15% bump in processing performance and up to 30% better efficiency in the phone. The A17 chipset will have a 6-core processor and a 6-core GPU, along with 1 more core than the graphics in the A16 chip. Apple will now be able to pair the new chip with 8GB of RAM, an upgrade from the iPhone 14 Pro's 6GB RAM.

As most of the devices are now providing the USB-C ports for charging and data transferring, including Apple's MacBooks and iPad Pros, the iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to have access to the faster USB speeds along with the change in the charging port.

Reportedly, after the launch event, the newly launched iPhone 15 m models will be open for the pre-order from September 15. However, among the all four models of the series, iPhone 15 Pro Max could be delayed for the pre-order, which might be available in October due to the supply issues, according to reports.

Besides the two models, the vanilla iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will also be launched in the event.
