Apple 14 Plus users can verify whether their devices are eligible for free repair by visiting Apple’s official support page. Users will be required to enter their IMEI number to check eligibility. Furthermore, users who have already made payments for repairs catering for the same issue can request a refund. Apple stated that users can claim these free repairs for up to three years from the original date of purchase.

Notably, this free service programme is limited to iPhone 14 Plus models and does not include other iPhone 14 series models, such as the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, or newer models. Previously in 2021, Apple provided free repair facilities for the iPhone 12 models facing an earpiece issue.

In other Apple-related news, the company recently unveiled its iOS 18.1 update, offering Apple Intelligence features on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 series models. The iPhone 14 series also received the update, but it is not compatible with the new AI features due to an older SoC and lower RAM. Additionally, even the iPhone 15 series models, including the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, did not receive the AI features.

The latest iOS update has also introduced a Call Recording feature for iPhones. With iOS 18.1, users can not only record calls but also receive real-time transcription of calls using the Apple Intelligence (AI) feature. To be able to use this feature, users need to ensure that their smartphone is updated to iOS 18.1.
