Apple iPhone 12 to be cheaper than iPhone 11? Can you afford it? Here is what you should know
The increasing competition from the likes of Samsung and OnePlus along with the emergence of other smartphone makers like Xiaomi and Realme, has forced the tech giant Apple to re-work its strategy. Coronaviru lockdown has played a big part too. The Cupertino-based smartphone manufacturer priced its last generation phones quite aggressively and has also launched an affordable iPhone this year – iPhone SE (2020).
Now, if the reports are to be believed, the next-gen iPhone could be even cheaper! According to a report by Chinese blog site My Drivers (via GizChina), the 5.4-inch OLED display model of the upcoming iPhone 12 series will be priced at $649 (Rs 49,231 approximately).
To recall, the iPhone 11 was priced at $699 (Rs 53,000 approximately) by Apple.
The report says that the 6.1-inch OLED screen model of the series with dual rear cameras will be priced at $749 (Rs 49,231 approximately), while the 6.1-inch OLED screen model with a triple rear camera setup and LiDAR sensors will be price at $999 (Rs 95,754 approximately). The top model of the iPhone 12 series with a 6.7-inch OLED display, triple rear cameras and LiDAR sensors will be priced at $1099 (Rs 83,337 approximately).

The specs and other details of the phones will be known when they are launched in September this year. The smartphones are expected to be powered by company’s A14 chipset and feature support for 5G connectivity. They are also expected to feature a smaller notch compared to previous generation iPhones.
The iPhone 12 Pro is also expected to have a screen refresh rate of 120Hz and a USB Type-C port. It is also expected to have support for reverse wireless charging.
