Whether attached to a handbag, keys, backpack, or other items, the coin-shaped AirTag taps into the vast, global 'Find My' network and can help locate a lost item while keeping location data private and anonymous with end-to-end encryption. AirTag can be purchased in one and four packs for just Rs 3,190 and Rs 10,900, respectively. It is equipped with the Apple-designed U1 chip using ‘Ultra Wideband' technology, enabling 'Precision Finding' for iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 users. AirTag requires iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 14.5 or later, or iPad running iPadOS 14.5 or later.

We used this new-launched AirTags and Here's what I think about this new incredible technology from Apple. Whether it's your car keys,  your wallet or handbag or your luggage, the Apple AirTag pinpoints your item on a map, making it quick and easy to find. Well, it is very helpful for people like me who are prone to losing things. Now, Thanks to Apple, I can sleep in peace.

The really good thing about this newly launched tracker from Apple is that they connect easily with your iPhone. The moment you remove the cover of the AirTags and bring it close to your iPhone, you will easily find the Airgtag connecting option. Once you start following the mandatory steps to connect the AirTags with your iPhone, you will see options to name it depending on how you want to use it. Apple gives you plenty of options like keys, wallets, handbag, lockers, etc.

Once set up, you will see the selected item on a map. You can play a sound on the built-in speaker by going to the new Items tab in the Find My app, or say “Hey Siri, find my keys”. If it’s nearby like under the couch or in the next room - you just have to follow the sound and your search is over. I hid my wallet in my car and in different locations and honestly, I didn't face any issue finding it. The sound feature is very helpful especially when you look for your item with AirTag in low light conditions. That's where the sound option comes in.

Your AirTag sends out a secure Bluetooth signal that can be detected by nearby devices in the Find My network. These devices send the location of your AirTag to iCloud. Then you can go to the Find My app and see it on a map. The whole process is anonymous and encrypted to protect your privacy. And itʼs efficient, so thereʼs is no need to worry about battery life or data usage.

Just like your other Apple devices, AirTag can be put into 'Lost Mode'. Then, when it’s detected by a device in the network, you’ll automatically get a notification. You can also set it so someone can get your contact info by tapping your AirTag with an NFC-capable smartphone.

The major USP of this newly launched AirTag is only you can see where your AirTag is. Your location data and history are never stored on the AirTag itself. Devices that relay the location of your AirTag also stay anonymous, and that location data is encrypted every step of the way. So not even Apple knows the location of your AirTag or the identity of the device that helps find it.

AirTag is designed to discourage unwanted tracking. If someone else's AirTag finds its way into your stuff, your iPhone will notice it's traveling with you and send you an alert. After a while, if you still haven’t found it, the AirTag will start playing a sound to let you know it’s there. If you happen to be with anyone who has an AirTag, or in a public or crowded place with a whole bunch of people with AirTag, don't worry. Remember, these alerts are triggered only when an AirTag is separated from its owner.

Also, It is designed to keep going for more than a year on a standard battery you can easily replace. And your iPhone lets you know when itʼs time to pop in a new one. You don't have to worry if you accidentally drop the AirTag in water because it is water-resistant. You can purchase AirTag from apple.com/in and add personalized engraving for free (like a text and a selection of emojis).

Verdict: Priced at Rs 3,190 for a single, and Rs 10,900 for a pack of four, Apple AirTag comes with incredible tracking abilities and most importantly it is very easy to connect and use. This new advanced tracker from Apple will definitely make your life easy and it is undoubtedly the perfect companion for those who want extra peace of mind.
